MARÉS

Mallorca Living Concept

The Marés is a sedimentary rock formed in the Miocene, horizontally stratified and massive.

It is composed of fragments of marine fossils and grains of other rocks, generally cemented with not very abundant carbonate material.

It is typical of the Balearic Islands in Mallorca, where there are 20 active quarries and its extraction does not constitute an aggression to the environment.

It can also be found in other places of the Mediterranean coast: the Tosca DE Xabia and Denia, La Mollasse in Marseille or the Tuffo Calcareous in Italy.

The color can vary, ranging from almost pure white (Cas Buso quarry in Llucjmajor and Petra), ashy white (marés from Santanyi), sandy and yellowish color (quarries of Arenal), golden (marés from Porreres) and reddish golden (another variety of marés from Petra).

We work all types of Marés at the request of our clients, with the desired finish for reforms of exterior and interior areas of the house.

Marés can be used to create warm and unique atmospheres. It does not require surface treatment or maintenance. It improves its appearance over time and is a breathable material that regulates humidity.
